    Default Leds turned yellow

    Hey all,

I have 3 sets of led lights i put together but the oldest one has gone from the diodes being bright white to a yellow colour instead. Anyone know what might cause this? I thought maybe a failing driver as its affecting all diodes on all the strips

Could that be a sign that they are burning out?

    Stolen from a website
"The yellowing of white led strip lights is related to LED quality, but the main reasons are that the temperature of the white led strip is overheated, and use PU glue that will turn yellow after long-term use to encapsulate the strip."

Bugger... they're samsung strips and used aluminium as a heatsink.
I have a spare driver so I ordered a potentiometer thinking I can try a new driver without much faffing about. Plants still grow under it but I now wonder if its good enough for flowering

They're a few years old, plus I bought all the parts separately

Check them with the PPFD meter app. It's off by up to 10% but that's good enough to know if the wavelengths you need are there. Just compare side by side with a white one.
