    Default RAW Products reviews..

    I thought I’d start posting results of the jug tests I’ll be running on some of the RAW, NPK Industries Products I received recently in the post. For this particular product I will mix a single dose of nutrients according to the label recommendations to ONE gallon each of both distilled water and my tap water. I’m primarily interested in EC and pH values.

    Up first is the RAW GROW 7-4-5. (Other nutrients such as Ca, Mg, S, B, Fe and Mn are also listed in the ingredients.)

    Baseline readings before adding GROW:

    DISTILLED WATER EC = 0.0085 millisiemens
    pH = 8.45

    TAP WATER EC = 0.222
    pH = 8.5

    One Teaspoon added to One Gallon of DISTILLED WATER resulted in the following readings after 24 hours. (NOTE: GROW mixes very quickly with water.)

    EC = 0.675

    pH = 5.9

    One Teaspoon added to One Gallon of my TAP WATER resulted in the following readings after 24 hours. (NOTE: GROW mixes very quickly with water.)

    EC = 0.904

    pH = 6.5

    Several FEED CHARTS are provided on the manufacturer’s website. One such Chart lists PPM Values of their RAW Products.

    This Chart states approximately 380 PPM’s are obtained when One Teaspoon of GROW is added to One Gallon of water.

    Via interpolation One Teaspoon of GROW I added to One Galon of Distilled Water generated 337 PPM’s using my EC probe.

    1.0 EC/500 ppm(Hanna) = 0.674 EC/X ppm X = 337 ppm.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    THOUGHTS: 380 ppm minus 337 ppm equals 43 ppm difference from the manufacturer’s Value and my measured Value. If I would have accurately weighed the GROW in grams (vs. a visual Teaspoon measurement) I may have come closer to their 380 ppm.

    As time permits I’ll dribble other RAW Product jug tests. Hope this information is of value to those interested.

    I see you tested distilled water and tap water. I only use purified water what effect would that have on the PH and EC?
    Only asking bc I'm looking for a new food. Can't seem to find the right mega crop blend everyone says it is back ordered.

    GreenLeaf Nutrients has the One part available for sale on Amazon, the 3lb bag just shows as in stocks, and the 25lb bag says they still have 7 left at the time of this post.

    Per email from a RAW rep.they use neutral water with 0 ppm or EC to start. You should get similar ppm values as shown on the above Chart. Using pure water your EC will go up and your pH will go down with the addition of RAW GROW.

    Up next is the RAW BLOOM 3-12-12. (Other nutrients such as Mg, S, B, Fe and Mn are also listed in the ingredients.) For this tea I mixed a double-dose (2 teaspoons) of nutrients to ONE gallon of distilled water. I also mixed 1 teaspoon into one gallon of my tapwater.

    Baseline readings before adding BLOOM:

    DISTILLED WATER EC = 0.0085 millisiemens
    pH = 8.45

    TAP WATER EC = 0.214
    pH = 7.86

    Two teaspoon of BLOOM added to One Gallon of DISTILLED WATER resulted in the following readings after 48 hours.

    EC = 1.175

    pH = 6.01

    One Teaspoon of BLOOM added to One Gallon of my TAP WATER resulted in the following readings after 24 hours.

    EC = 0.8

    pH = 6.5

    Several FEED CHARTS are provided on the manufacturer’s website. One Chart lists PPM Values of their RAW Products. This Chart states 380 PPM’s are obtained when One Teaspoon of BLOOM is added to One Gallon of water.

    Via interpolation two teaspoon of BLOOM added to Distilled Water generated 588 PPM’s using my EC probe.

    1.0 EC/500 ppm(Hanna) = 1.175 EC/X ppm X = 588 ppm.

    THOUGHTS: In theory one might assume that if 380 ppm of nutrients are produced in 1 tsp./gal. of BLOOM 3-12-12 … then 2 tsps./gal. would produce 760 ppm. In my jug test 2 tsps./gal. produced 588 ppm. I’ll keep this chemistry in mind for future reference when mixing.

    That's it for now folks.

    I’m interested in three things…pH, EC and what my typical hand-measurements of product will produce when mixing nutrient teas. Up next is Raw NITROGEN 20-0-0. For this tea I mixed 1/8th teaspoon of N to ONE gallon of distilled water. I also mixed 1/8th teaspoon into one gallon of my tap water.

    Baseline readings before adding NITROGEN:

    DISTILLED WATER EC = 0.0023 millisiemens
    pH = 7.35

    TAP WATER EC = 0.234
    pH = 7.6

    1/8th teaspoon of NITROGEN added to One Gallon of DISTILLED WATER resulted in the following readings after 24 hours.

    EC = 0.509

    pH = 6.96

    1/8th teaspoon of NITROGEN added to One Gallon of my TAP WATER resulted in the following readings after 24 hours.

    EC = 0.659

    pH = 7.39

    Several FEED CHARTS are provided on the manufacturer’s website. One Chart lists PPM Values of their RAW Products. This Chart states 180 PPM’s are obtained when 1/8th teaspoon of NITROGEN is added to One Gallon of water.

    Via interpolation 1/8th teaspoon of NITROGEN added to Distilled Water generated 255 PPM’s using my EC probe.

    1.0 EC/500 ppm(Hanna) = 0.509 EC/X ppm X = 255 ppm.

    Via interpolation 1/8th teaspoon of NITROGEN added to my Tap Water generated 330 PPM’s using my EC probe.

    1.0 EC/500 ppm(Hanna) = 0.659 EC/X ppm X = 330 ppm.

    THOUGHTS: Adding 1/8th teaspoon Raw NITROGEN to one gallon of my Tap Water produced another 213 ppm.

    0.659 – 0.234 = 0.425 EC

    1.0 EC/500 ppm(Hanna) = 0.425 EC/X ppm X = 213 ppm.

    Up next is the RAW PHOSPHORUS 9-61-0. For this tea I mixed 1/4 teaspoon of nutrient to ONE gallon of distilled water. I also mixed 3/8 teaspoon into one gallon of my tapwater.

    Baseline readings before adding PHOSPHORUS:

    DISTILLED WATER EC = 0.0058 millisiemens
    pH = 8.40

    TAP WATER EC = 0.230
    pH = 7.8

    1/4 teaspoon of PHOSHORUS added to One Gallon of DISTILLED WATER resulted in the following readings after 24 hours.

    EC = 0.274

    pH = 5.23

    3/8 teaspoon of PHOSPHORUS added to One Gallon of my TAP WATER resulted in the following readings after 24 hours.

    EC = 0.660

    pH = 6.1

    Several FEED CHARTS are provided on the manufacturer’s website. One Chart lists PPM Values of their RAW Products. This Chart states 75 PPM’s are obtained when 1/8 teaspoon of PHOSPHORUS is added to One Gallon of water.

    Via interpolation 1/4 teaspoon of PHOSPHORUS added to Distilled Water generated 137 PPM’s using my EC probe.

    1.0 EC/500 ppm(Hanna) = 0.274 EC/X ppm X = 137 ppm.

    Via interpolation 3/8th teaspoon of PHOSPHORUS added to my Tap Water generated 330 PPM’s using my EC probe.

    1.0 EC/500 ppm(Hanna) = 0.660 EC/X ppm X = 330 ppm.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

    FINAL THOUGHTS: Adding 3/8th teaspoon Raw PHOSPHORUS to one gallon of my Tap Water produced another 215 ppm.

    0.660 – 0.230 = 0.430 EC

    1.0 EC/500 ppm(Hanna) = 0.430 EC/X ppm X = 215 ppm.
