Default Time for a new cupboard/light build

So the last time I built some lights I ended up with a few extra bits including a spare driver. I currently have those lights in a mini wardrobe which is only 5ft high, and the grow area only 3 ft as the fan, filter and feed jug resides where drawers used to be.

I didn't want to take up more floor space so I've opted for a 170cm wardrobe. I'll split it horizontally with a shelf giving me two equal areas to grow some short fat girls. So will be gathering parts I need for the lights over the next few days. Got nearly everything I need I think. Just gotta order a 3 pin plug, and the led strips. The ones I've previously bought are only available from the US and I know I'll get stung with tax if I get them. Problem is I'm basically copying my previous shopping lists to know things are compatible. I have no idea what alternatives to digikeys 1510-2285-ND there might be that would work with my driver. So research to be done unless anyone knows thier shit and can offer to advise.

Will need to tackle light leaks and get some mylar ordered. Gonna put a small cabinet next to the wardrobe to house the feed jugs, fan and filter. Will be blowing through the filter which will be enclosed in its own box with a vent cut through to my wall vent.

Once parts start arriving I'll begin taking some pics of the progress.

This is the space for the feed jugs, timers, fan and filter. The bit hidden contains the fan and filter where the air is pushed out through a vent leading outside behind the cupboard. I plan on connecting the drawer fronts then using hinges to turn it into a door.

Frame together, just need to add an L bracket to hold the potentiometer when it's delivered. Also waiting on some solid core wire.

Haven't done much to the wardrobe except remove a panel of wood at the base (so I can slip a drain pan under), removed the poles and doors. Next I'll cut the sections of mylar needed and use some gorilla tape to hang it, plus a bit of carpet glue to stop it falling if the tape fails...
Then gotta fashion a shelf using some shelf brackets and scrap wood. Piece I have is a few cm short so I'll leave a gap for plugs a air to get through.

Slow going... too knackered during the week so its not getting the attention I'd like. Moved it into place now and cut a hole in the back to allow for the protruding ethernet plug and cable. Also put in the shelf brackets... if I can slide out the shelf still once the doors are on then I might add a few brackets so I can adjust the heights of the two growing spaces as needed.

Need to make a start on the lights. Would be easier if I had my other set to copy but they're in use and I'm reluctant to take them down till I'm ready to hang them in the new cupboard.

    Passive intake added

Need to drill extract holes but struggling to find my 4" hole drill bit. Seems I spend 10 percent of the time working, 30 percent contemplating and 55 percent looking for tools and materials that I know I have but they're lost in the mess of my workshop.

The other 5 percent is spent rolling to ease my frustration lol

Been considering electrics so drilled a few access holes and gonna swap a power lead from my other closet with a longer one to reach the extension lead as its a metre short. Ill use the old lead on the new lights as they'll be closer to the extension. Tomorrow and possibly tonight I'll be working on the lights. Might glue the strips in a little while

Strips glued down with thermal paste. Solid core wire stripped from a cable so tomorrow I'll start wiring hopefully.

It's perfection! The money you save on the DIY makes it very tempting. You make it look easy. I lack the patience.

I love a project... consumes me till its done. Just wish I had more free time to focus on it. The lights are the 4th set I've done and they're all near identical so its just putting it together really
