One that made me raise my eyebrows was "Purple Punch." It had such a unique flavor and a relaxing high. Also, "Gelato" was pretty impressive – it had a fantastic aroma and a smooth smoke.

    So I've decided ......

As I got a surprise of CJ autos I'm going to pop a few of these as my start up run and get the room dialled in again .

Now as I've been sitting here in my own mind and just researching all sorts of weird and unnecessary stuff my mind has come to this thought and thought I'd ask you guys if it's been tried with any success.

    Well hear goes lol.........

    Garlic Water ??????
Now by steeping fresh garlic (finely chopped) 10 cloves in 24oz water for 2 to 3 days creates a liquid which has anti fungal and pesticide properties ( or so the blog I've read says)
It encourages orchids to flower sooner too apparently.

Now I'm wondering if anyone has used this as a preventative spray for pests? Results?
Or watered down and fed in with normal watering?

I use n just starting to grow alot of garlic so this could end up a free solution to pests if works

Out of curiosity have you had problems with a specific type of pest, or you're simply wanting to be proactive with your pest solutions?

In my personal experience, these things can be a good deterrent in a garden, where other plants are freely available, and the pests can simply choose to go to another plant that smells a little more appetizing.

In the case where a pest gets into a small area, such as a tent and has no other options, then they will tend to eat the plant leaves/roots anyway, rather than starve.

I use predator mites and traps and have always had 100% success with them, others use chemical solutions and that works for them, just make sure to do a lot of research when choosing the latter.

Definitely not going down the chemical route as that just defeats the point of feeding organically.
It was just a thought that I'd thought I'd ask as I'll end up going down so many wormholes today that before I know it I'd be looking into coral regeneration programs lol .

Yeah, completely understandable..I avoid the chemical route too.

Are there specific pests you've been having trouble with, or do you simply want to be more proactive with a pest solution?

Last run which was awhile ago now I got a bit of a thrip issue.
Which I couldnt figure out where it came from but is what it is. So this time round I'm wanting to be a bit more pre emptive rather than reactive from now on .

Already got soap nuts , neem meal but was thinking of what more to do as was just gonna be a few autos in 16ltr fabric pots.

But the more I think about it I'm just gonna get 3 of my 50ltr pots going and they can mature over the auto grow and be booming by the time I get the photos going .

To prevent thrips when I grow, I use Amblyseius swirskii (when I remember to get them), which is a predatory mite.

I use them with sticky traps, which do two things, let's me know if there are any thrips about, so I can switch to curative measures, (which involves purchasing some Amblyseius cucumeris to add to the mix), and secondly, it reduces adult thrip numbers.

I've had really good success with them.
