First attempt making RSO

This is just what I did after watching a bunch of videos, reading articles..you know, the usual overwhelming research. I pulled what I wanted, after getting a real education on the merits of RSO, the Rick Simpson story, and some of the health benefits of the entire plant, vs the fun parts. But since it was relatively successful, I figured I’d

it’s entirely possible I’ll miss something, but I’ll fill in where I can. Also, I apologize for not taking many pictures, but real talk, not a lot to show.

Materials:
*I used a bunch of trim, mainly because I wanted to figure out the process, but I since learned you can use all parts of the plant, stems, leaves, hopes, dreams, and all. I used about 45g

*Gloves (shit gets sticky QUICK)

*Cheese cloth

*Rubber band or hair tie

*Two large jars



*Infuzium 420/Magic butter machine, etc
( you can use a nonstick pan)



*Ethanol 190% proof (95%) food grade, sugar cane alcohol (Amazon)

*1 ml glass syringes, blunt tip, 14 GA blunt tip non-hypodermic needles

Nice job Ivy, I have made this in the past with decent success.
If you do another run in the future try grain alcohol instead of iso. It's the non solvent version for a cleaner finish.

100% she is all good. But this stuff is a non solvent version made from grain. It costs more but but makes a more organic product.

I’m all about trying new stuff! Once I get through the stuff I got now, I’ll check it out. Fortunately, my hubby is enjoying the hell out of it, so probably sooner than later

Steps:

*I put the alcohol and 1 jar in freezer overnight

*I took the shake-and-shit, trim, and all, put it in cold jar, and filled the jar with enough alcohol to cover the product

* Shook the ever loving crap out of it for five minutes

*Ran out of time again, and put the jar back in the freezer for a couple days (shake it up every day it’s in stasis!)

*I put cheese cloth over the other jar, secured it with the ponytail tie, and scraped out sludgey, green mess overtop the cloth with the spatula

* Squeezed out the cloth, and poured the green juice into my Infuzium machine to cook it off at 174 degrees until it reduced significantly

*Then cooked the rest down on the nonstick pan, keeping it the same temp


And cooked…

Hoooollllldd……

Finally, got all the alcohol cooked off (notice no more bubbles)

I won’t get into the details, but suffice it to say, shit gets sticky quick, so don’t wait to suck it up in a syringe..



We filled 4 syringes with the oil, though there’s more than 1ml in each (I marked ml line in red). I thought the pan was done for, but hubby added a teaspoon of coconut oil, and it deglazed the rest perfectly, and resulted in a thinner, tinctur-esque type results..



Funny story…As I was rushing to get all this green gold into the syringes, I got some on my fingers, so OF COURSE, I licked my fingers to try it…

Never slept so well in my life.. and that was after a few hours of a delightfully chill buzz.

This turned out well, and I’m looking forward to trying this again, as well as vape oil.

Rad. I think I had rso before I had any other edible and thought it was a tincture. Doesn't take much does it?
