    Default Canna Butter 101

This is a good method of making potent, nice tasting canna butter and it can easily be adapted to any ingredient amounts.

I generally mix 3-4oz of high quality trim to 500g butter. In this run I have used about 6oz of White Russian trim and 1/4oz of air buds to 750g butter.

    What you need
    Large boiler pot or saucepan
    750g organic butter
6oz high quality trim - no fan leaves but stem is ok if it's covered in crystal.
    sieve or strainer
Lined washing up gloves - 2 pair
A large piece of cheese cloth, tea towel or similar
A container nearly as large as the boiler pot
    A stove
A house that can stink like pot for 8hrs

    Step 1
Place all your bud trim etc in the pot and fill with water.
Bring it to the boil and simmer for a half an hour, then let it stand for 30mins.
Then strain the trim in a tea towel/strainer and throw the water away.
This helps get rid of a lot of the 'green' taste.

    Step 2
Fill up the boiler again with water and trim, return to the boil and add your butter. Melt the butter then simmer between 6-8hrs, stirring & topping up with water when necessary. You don't want it to run dry!

    Step 3
    This is the worst part...
Place a strainer with a tea towel/cheese cloth lining over the container that your butter will set in.
Empty the boiler into it and let whatever will, drain through. Then wring out the tea towel with the trim in it so that you get every little bit of butter you can out!

BE VERY CAREFUL! IT WILL BE EXTREMELY HOT!!!!!!!!!

You can run a bit of boiling water through the mixture if it cools down too much.

Now you should start to see the ingredients separating with the butter moving towards the top.
Get it straight in the fridge and let it set overnight.

Tomorrow it should have separated with the butter solidifying, and the water...well...still water!
You can now seperate them, remelt your butter and pour it into whatever you want to store it in.

Use it as you would usual butter...cakes, biscuits, muffins, bread etc

Expect to lose a bit of butter in the process, I ended up with 650g.

Have fun and remember - they kick in slow but when they do watch out!

Top post.... I can see it working really well.

I make my cannabutter in a slow cooker.
I use roughly the same ammounts (4oz of quality dried trim n airy bud and 500g of butter) and a little water.
I dry my trim for a few weeks before i make it and it then put evetyhing in the slow cooker at the same time and let it simmer for a few hours.
After straining and chilling we end up with the same stuff.

Some of the resulting shortbread biscuits i made took out everyone that tried them. some said they still felt it the next day for a few hours..
Ive probably made a couple of hundred over the months and people still ask me in the pub when i will be cooking again.

Im due to make some as soon as i can be bothered. wife evn got me proper butter today so maybee ill do a similar post.
then again, after a few Js i probably wont be bothered

I was going to use my trim to make hash but after reading this post I am now going to make some cannabutter with it.

Fantastic walkthru - even with me being blonde I think I get it! *grin*

    Thanks GreenM...
