Im in the middle of doing this but to be fair it doesnt seem any quieter. Ive got a huge thick box my air cooled hood came in which ive cut down to fit the fan in perfect and used the shred packaging that came with it, cut holes either end, put ducting on, closed the box up still loud as fuck lol

I used old t shirts & newspaper to get it packed out solid. Worked a treat.

This sounds like a brilliant idea and save me about £100 on a more expensive fan that claims to be quieter. Thanks

If you've got somewhere like a garage or even another box or groundsheet you can put this on when you fill it with expanding foam then do it. Expanding foam is just that and fuck me it can expand. The misses will be proper pissed off if she sees her kitchen floor covered covered in it!

Just in case you'd better label the can "Not Mousse"
