Nice setup for the price!

i was thinking of using a plastic mini greenhouse with zipper doors then covering the inside in silver lining and wrapping the outside in thick black plastic sheeting .... would it keep the light and smell in there tho ~?
also i suppose you could slide thin wood or copper tubing inside the plastic poles to reinforce it to take the weight of the fans and filters .....

In the 8 years this thread has ran, grow tent prices have dropped a lot. £50 will have one delivered, with decent poles and vent holes. Zips that work well, and a floor. But making your own is still the best stealth option for some. Especially when you need to get rid of it.
Black sheet is great at stopping light. It's the easiest way to block a window. Even better would be black/white. The sheeting where one side is black, the other white. The white could be 90% reflective, giving the black less work to do. There would be no shame in using that as your only sheeting. It will outlive Mylar in most situations.
Plastic sheet can certainly contain the smell, but you may need a lot of gaffer tape.
We put a greenhouse in a loft once. The plan was to paint it white outside, then put fiberglass over it. He rushed ahead without me, barely whitewashed the glass, and put a blue tarp over the lot. I was greeted by the oddest site when I stuck my head up. There in the loft, stood a garden greenhouse in full effect. Door and all. Glowing away under it's thick warm blue jacket. Lighting the rafters with it's blue glow. It was like the scene from saving grace, where the telly tubbies have a grow on, and all the snows gone because the grass roof is glowing. Dipsy and lala are running around in the garden as usual, uttering shit, and bollox. Or maybe I just wasn't thinking straight at the time.
Nice guide thanks.
