get it going up 2 you not regret it the ease is just so nice im in 10 litre buckets but a 15 should make for maybe one more day of none watering so if you have got ove the need to look at them every day you have some simple growing and maybe only watering every three days when in late flower defo in veg prob every 4/5 days
the ones ive got out side i only water once a week

yeah I will most probably turn it on 12/12 when they are around 20 inches to get a 3 foot plant. I have 6ft of height in my tent. Also the hole is needed obviously but am thinking of drilling lots of small holes in a circle motion rather then one half inch hole..That way I don't need a mesh screen, but did you add a screen to stop the perlite from escaping?

i use a 5/16 drill and ive got a couple that were 10mm and the perlite dont come out once its been wet i use a pencil to push the medium back a bit to create a gap and it stays there cos some times they block slightly this stops that
half inch is to big bro but i still dont think after the first water it will fall out it tends to very firm after watering the first time if you did more than one hole it will aid in the time you may have to wait for the run off to stop i use foil trays from the 99p shop to stand the buckets in and they dont hold much water
are you going to use vermiculite as well? i find it hold the water well and give the roots water for longer than just perlite but some use just perlite

I may try vermiculite with perlite as well yes..Have to get myself down to the local focus store..Isn't your hole in your bucket about half an inch? half an inch is really not that big surely..just over a cm..

my bigest hole is 10mm if half inch/12mm is what you got then use it the medium dont fall out once it settles after first water no need for mesh

Can i ask GMan, How important is it to rinse/clean the Perlite?
I've read that the dust in perlite can be a bad thing for plants
when it makes the water all starchy/gooey
