I got my ties from 'the range' not sure if there is one near you but any craft store or shop will have something you can use.

It's just wire with a furry bit on the outside.

2 quid for a massive pack of long ones, very handy for LST indoors and out.

I can't remember if they had a name to be honest, pretty sure they were a generic brand, just ask in any craft shop for some wire ties mate, can't go wrong.

Any type of tie or even string would do it, ties are just easier and quicker IMO.

    Good luck mate

Your not on about pipe cleaners are you? ***EDIT*** Just had a look at the pics on the first page and yes they used to be called pipe cleaners.
'there was a young man named jobby,
    who haboured an illicit hobby,
    with renknowned growing fame,
he put our plants to shame,
that bright young man named jobby'

If you cant get a gramme per watt doing a scrog then you must be doing something wrong,or your environment is not tuned in mate. The guys with a few grows under thier belt are getting like 25-27 oz from a 600 watt bulb, thats 4 plants by the way......good luck.
