Great post and thread mate, helps me out a lot.

Having about 4/5 soil grows under my belt I have finally bit the bullet and bought myself an 18l Wilma 4 pot complete with all the basic essentials. This thread has answered a lot of my questions about ec/pH but I'm sure I'll have plenty more.

???? Could you explain the thinking behind this one mate.
TO GROW A PLANT YOU NEED TO THINK LIKE A PLANT

I was drunk when typing this yesterday...haha. but basically if your ppm and ph gets lowered that means you can add more nutrients. If the ppm and ph rises you need to add more water as your plants nutrient intake has reached its limit at the moment. I personally try to add until I see the ph go higher, then I'll add water to lower the ph to my desired ratio.

wee question re ec and ph? I see a lot of folk asking for advice given re ec or ph rising or falling. my ec and ph have been sitting at 0.7 and 5.9, now both have dropped to 0.6 and 5.8.should such a small change worry me or should I leave things as they are until theres more change?

Personally if there looking good I’d not worry about it, wish I could keep my stable ??. Just keep an eye on it, I like to write down my readings to gain a picture over a few weeks, manage to notice when summit is a miss.

Someone more knowledgeable will prob give you a better answer
