Tipping it using bricks sounds harsh g, like releasing the Hoover dam! you probably already know mate but to others that are thinking of trying it, if the reservoir is going to be installed on a slight gradient towards a tap the whole of the wilma base needs to be supported using ply or similar. This ensures there are no weak spots in the tank. Also to much gradient puts more pressure on the outer walls towards the bottom of the pitch, this can be catastrophic during those cold spells.

Just re-read your post dur... You lift the entire res off the floor because your tap is directly underneath! sorry geez, good idea tho and I bet it's emptied in a jiffy or 2.

Indeed, whole tank permanently raised by two brick under each corner. Tap is at the front bottom and the rear is raised by about 1cm to aid water coming to the tap. I should support the whole thing with ply as you say, the plastic is thick and sturdy but over time could split. Good one

Is that spaghetti in your res g? Looks carried from that angle

I think the square type res of the wilma is a lot sturdier than the rectangle shape of the wilma 8. Also the gradient need only be a slight turn of a spirit bubble, any more and it's difficult to judge the water line of the deepest end or shallow end.
