pssssst....
Want to know how to make a nice little bit of squidgy black hash, quickly, simply, at almost zero cost, and using only everyday household items Then get a load of this
I've been busy this afternoon knocking up some myself and took the opportunity to grab some snaps of the process I sometimes use at home.
I used
- 3 plants worth of Dried and cured trim - just the sugar leaves and smaller fans. I used 6-8weeks cured for this batch and frozen trim is ok but I've found it leaves a greener taste and rougher smoke.
- 2 Bags of Iced Cubes - to help freeze and detach the trichs
- Mixing Bucket - to mix it in
- Potato Masher - to mix it up with
- Colander - for first filter
- Flour Seive - for flotsam and jetsam
- Bucket for syphoned residue - I used a big bowl
- Bit of Tubing - for syphoning the unwanted water, I used a bit of airline I've got kicking around
- Pan - to boil away the final liquid
and thats it.
£2 for the ice from la supermarche, and about 10p for the gas used in cooking off the water.
PART 1 - Ice extract the trichs from the leaves.
Layer the ice and trim in a bucket, leave for 1/2 hour to freeze the green then add some water. Take your chosen mixer/masher and basically mix it up. Gently agitating, scooping, plunging, stirring for at least 30minutes. It's a good time to get all Zen on yourself believe me You'll end up with a mix of ice, greenery and a brown sort of pond water. Remove the greenery and ice from the bucket. Squeezing the green to remove all the goodies. Then put this squeezed green in a colander, open it up a bit and rinse it with a little clean water to get the last of it. Then use a finer sieve, to scoop up the smaller bits from the bucket. This will leave you with a muddyish solution. Basically its the trichs and broken down chlorophyl and we want to get the at the trichs for the hash.
PART 2 - Leave to settle and remove the liquid
Move the bucket of liquid somewhere undisturbed for a couple of hours to the trichs settle at the bottom of the bucket then carefully syphon off the water from the trichs, being careful not to disturb the trichs. Try to get as much water out as possible and you are left with a sandy, muddy, cloudy sediment.

PART 3 - Turn it into Squidgy Black
Now simply put this residue/liquid in to a heavy bottomed pan, bring it to a gently rolling boil and, keeping your eye on it! let the water steam away. When it boils down to thick gloop remove it from the heat and let it cool off. This batch took 25 minutes. Scrape up all the black/browny resin that's left at the bottom and that is almost your final product. There is still a bit of liquid in which needs removing and I usually like to spread it out a bit and leave it to air-dry in the sun. Then gather it up and roll it into a ball, keep working it gently and it will become a nice, squidgy, shiny ball of pure squidgy black.
This really needs drying off a bit more and reworking into a ball, but here is one I did a little earlier
PART 4 - Sample it
Great stuff for sausaging into a joint, I only put a little in as you can see as this stuff can be a bit of a knockdown if you overdo it
Shimples
I really hope this helps you out and let me know how your enjoyed your unadulterated pure squidgy if you give it a go
