Though lengthy, patience is needed to do justice to it for sake of knowledge

I've read in various (other forums) that Leds could be placed close to the plant so I was beginning to think I made a mistake going with CFLS in my low space. Glad to see that wasnt the case else I'd have new gear on its way already. And I'd rather not have wasted money on my current lights

    Greats post, thanks.

Do we have a thread here on the forums of actually growing with LED's? Not the specs ETC, the actual differences between HPS and LED. For a start the soil will dry out slower due to less heat. Bleaching is a factor. Anything else to consider for each stage of growth as a posed to HPS and MH?

Hi I'm not sure if they're are many led grown posts on here yet I'm trying to fix that as we speak buddy. As has been mentioned it's only in the last few years and only the very best that have superseded hps mh etc but now they most certainly have. Heres a few hlg quantum board grown pics....more to follow very shortly.

Was never really interested in LED grow lights, they could never match HPS for yield back when people first started using them,I am wondering if now however they can compete in yield, price, and running cost as the technology has improved alot.
I am not gonna blow $100's on LED lights if they can't match HPS yields, aren't cheaper to run,and don't need 1 per plant for flowering, weed is legal here in Canada but we have a 4 plant per household limit so yield is everything.

My eye balls are seriously going to pop out of my head!! I am getting back into the hobby after a few years on break. I know how to do 2-4 plants under a 250W MH/HPS DWC style. Really didnt plan on this but my roomate germinated a bag seed from some Afghan Kush and it reminded me how much I enjoyed the hobby. I'm trying to decide whether or not to resurect my 250 or get a LED. I still have the fixture and ballast but no bulbs for the 250. Pretty much same growing space that I used the 250 in the past, a closet. Instead of DWC this one will be done in soil. I was interested in LED's back then so checked into them now. Pretty much the same thing I had issues with then...............can't trust manufactures, they are expensive and the lingo is foreign to me. I am used to Lumens, Kelvin .....that kinda thing. Light height??? Stick my hand under it, if hot raise the damn light up. Not to mention if you look on grow forums it was a active topic 5 years ago but not now!! HELP PLEASE!!! I can rock 1gram a watt with the 250, I know this. Yeah, little longer Veg time but thats where DWC has the advantage. It's going to cost me roughly $100 to get new bulbs for that fixture. Is it worth switching to LED? And how close to that price can I get to getting a light that can do up to 4 plants in a closet and do them well? Any and all help would be appreciated!!
