The biggest advantage is not changing bulbs every year.

I have seen them work and the few people that have tested them have done as well as a 600w Sodium.
sound very educated? You seem closed minded and not willing to even take on board what i have seen or telling you. Its like am saying you can buy paint in red and you guys are telling me you can't. I don't know everything about LED,s, never said i did. But you not willing to even listen. You just like slating them. Which is your choice.
Ask me 6 months about them and would not of seen them and told you they will not work. But after seeing them i can say they do.
I was giving advice about the product that i have seen or just come out.
We have a demo room with tents etc , showing alot of products. We grow chili plants to show off products. We anyone wanting a LED replacement and can afford it, these are good choice in my mind.
Do i grow weed, i have been growing for a long time.
I think the new unit be cheaper because they will not sell at those sort of prices. I would not replace my six 6oow sodium yet at those prices.
Only telling what i have seen, but no one will even take it on board that i might be right.
    Says it all really

Could anyone suggest a decent led manufacturer?, like a company that has produced a light with the right spectrum and gained results close to that of hps and have sufficient evidence to back it up.

I'm intrigued by growing with led and I will definitely take the plunge, but just waiting for the right light.

I agree Sootyaba they are good but sadly they only draw 180 watts, so you'd need a few for decent growth, unless you're in a small space.
