obviously you can smoke there in coffee shops and in the comfort of your own home but what is the attitude to people walking round the streets totally blazed? are there many other tourists there all walking round stoned off their head? what is it like there?

and do you get turned away from places (not coffee shops) for being blatantly really high or is it okay? would a coffee shop turn you away and refuse to sell you any weed if you were all ready far too blazed?

just wondering. really want to go.

I would say cyclists prob get a bit annoyed at stoners wandering into the cycle lane half the time. (like me)
Amsterdam is quite a hazardous place to be stoned in actually.
you got unused tram tracks that run through Dam square and you can never remember which ones are used or unused. Crossing the street blazed off your tits is a feat in its own, seeing as soon as you leave the pavement on one side you have to cross a cycle lane, then a road, then 2 tram tracks then another road and cycle lane before reaching the safety of the otherside, although i always ended up stopping in the cycle lane and hearing bells going to tell me to move!

never once been refused into a shop/coffeeshop or even a bar for being spangled but they do give you funny looks hehe as long as your not rude or too roudy most places don't seem to mind.

and as cones said, the cyclists are what you gotta watch out for ive been hit by them many a times, all you hear is Ding Ding and having no idea were its coming from you don't know until its too late or a friend has pulled you outof the way hehe, I found if you just stick to the walls you avoid the cycle lanes.

try not to smoke in high density areas outside aswell you get some funny looks from people they seem to frown upon it

hope you go and if you do enjoi your time there dude

Oh an then u have the canals. I'm sure there's a few stories about those too!

Mate of mine got a bit monged on shrooms and decided to go for a swim without telling anyone, and arrived back at the hotel in the morning with a police escort and his wet clothes in a bag ! !!

I think the locals are used to it Its illegal to walk round the streets with a spliff, besides its also rude to the locals, small children etc. That said, I have done it and many people do.

I've never been turned away from anywhere. I mean its not like you're being a rowdy drunk, who ever heard of a bunch of stoners causing trouble? worst you get is being paranoid from thinking everyone knows you're a stoner, as its kinda obvious, but no-one cares if you're stoned anyway.

nah, if you can walk up to the counter and ask for weed then you're not too stoned.

Do it. its quite expensive at the moment if you're english, what with the exchange rate and all, but other than that its a must go place if you like a smoke.
