If you look at the reviews for B&Q Verve they are very mixed apparently it has gone down hill this year from being quite good to atrocious (according to some reviewers) in 2019. I bought 2 bags for container plants around the house and it was fine. I put a few clones/potential mothers in it and they loved it.

I don't think the quality is very consistent. Personally I wouldn't take a chance with it again after all of the negative reports. Apparently it is made from a mixture of peat and recycled waste.

I brought some verve for one of my grows and it looked like it was mud. I have tried plant magic supreme which was good and jack magic which was also good.

I've been using pm soil now for a few years and not had one infestation since (touching wood as I type this)

I'm sold on the PM then, cba, like you say, with neem repell and fly paper
