    Default Stem splitting!

    Evening Talk,

As I was trawling or should I say 'got lost' on YouTube through recommended videos I came across 'stem splitting'.... After some reading up on the subject I found it's a well known old school trick to boost the resin count just before the flush, apparently the buds then get chocker with trichomes!

It all seems a bit brutal mind but I'm thinking a experiment could be on the cards lol

Has any body here ever had a go and what was the outcome?

For any one that's not heard of this give the search a go on YouTube and watch people hack away at main stem just before the flush is due.....

It's not for the faint hearted mind

Evening Peanut, I have actually heard of this before..but I'm gonna take a look at these videos too. I would be very interested in checking out the results for something like this, not sure if it's true or not but well worth a test if anyone's up for it!

A hugely high stress technique. Not really recommended IMHO

I did it one two of my Exo Cheese and left two untouched. No visible difference in resin production or yield between any of them.

I have tried this a few times. Could not really see any difference. All my weed is always covered in trichomes.
    Did not hurt them.

I've done this a few times as a side by side experiment and yes i did see a difference, you do it a couple of weeks before chop and yes it is brutal but it doesn't kill the plant apparently it was done on some sort of food plants hundreds of years ago by i think the Chinese, i'm sure it's in one of my old diaries, give it a go Peanut brother at the stage it's done you got nowt to loose,
