If they are auto's they need as much light as they can get, no less than 18/6 but 20/4 or even 24hr is best.

I agree, with autos the minimum you should really go is 18 hours anything less and you're really restricting the plant.
I was going 24/7 with the auto's I did. Just saying.

I'll reiterate regarding light schedule, if you're wanting to keep the electricity bill down 12/12 is just fine to flower an auto.
As for 24/0 during flower, apart from the unnecessary cost, there's also possible effects of no dark period.

No problem, they grow just fine on 12/12. When I've had autos in with my photos they've just ran on the same light schedule so when the photos were due to flower the autos ran on 12/12, think the most I went to during veg was 20/4 as darkness is part of the circadian rhythm and critically important.

Im pretty sure auto's dont need a dark period,im not exactly sure of the science behind it but it has been explained on here by someone before.Ive always maintained with auto's, less light = smaller plants/smaller yields as they grow so fast and need as much light as possible. I mean, the last auto I grew finished in 49 days and I imagine it would of been tiny if I didnt keep it to a 20/4 schedule. different strokes for different folks I suppose.

Borrowed this from elsewhere.... ''Cannabis is classed as a C3 plant, meaning it can absorb CO? during periods of light for photosynthesis. This theoretically eliminates the need for darkness, as they do not need periods of dark to photosynthesis, unlike C4 plants. Autoflowering plants have also evolved in the northern areas of the world where they receive near to 24-hours of light as standard during the seasons of growth. As such, it is safe to say that autoflowering cannabis can thrive under 24-hours of lighting.''
