Hi guys I’ve noticed a issue on one of my plants out of the 6. I’ve got a few slightly twisted leaves and the plant itself is looking a little pale to me considering I’ve upped the feed it’s getting to 2ml canna A/B that gives me a EC of 1.8 and pH to 5.8/5.9. I have just measured run off and EC is 0.8 and pH is 6.8 so making me think I have a build up?

Plants are Photoperiod Tropicana cherry in 20L canna coco getting about 3/3.5L a day in drippers until run off

  2. "Flood the pot with a feed solution Ec @ 1.4 and Ph @ 5.8 till the run off comes out @ Ec 1.2 and Ph @ 5.8 might take a good few litres to get there...Alternatively flush with plain tap water till the run off valves matches what went it then resume normal feeing..You might need to do this on a few successive days to balance/reset the medium...

Forgot to mention...Check the root ball if you can, your looking for a good occupancy of the pot and roots are not rotten or smell funky eggy smelling..

    Regards BL"

If you have 6 plants it won't hurt to reset the medium for all of them as a precaution..I do this a couple of times during a grow, it's standard practice for me. That's the good thing with an inert medium like coco you can start with a fresh slate whenever you like...Flush 3 x the pot size with plain non pH adjusted tap water, when the pots have drained a bit go in with a couple of litres of feed solution per pot, pH 5.8 Ec 1.4

Ok mate thank you. It seems to be every time I use drippers I get a issue and soon as I go back to hand feeding and flooding the pots everything is sweet

Are you water/feeding run to waste or recirculating the run off back to a reservoir ?

Plant don't look too bad on the whole...Not worth bothering with drippers if your run to waste mukka..6 plants is 12 to 18 litres per day or 2 to 3 litres per plant, hand feeding much better, I use a jug and pour it straight in, flushes old stagnant unused crap out and draws fresh oxygenated nutrients past the roots helps prevent any salt build up...

    Regards BL

Yeah I think il bin them off and go back to hand watering, only reason I wanted drippers is to set a timer so they get fed the same time daily due to work commitments but I suppose a few hours here and there won’t harm
