Default Anyone growing a few tomato plants this year?

I have been working out the best dates for starting off some tomato seeds and it seems to be this week(if you have a flower/veg room up and running and you can fit a few small plants in).
In 4 weeks time they should be 4-6" tall (putting mine in 1/2ltr pots between the other plants) and it will be early June, the nigh temps will be good and the toms would be off to a good start.

I started mine about 3 weeks ago and they'll go out into the garden in about 3 weeks. I use a garden planner I bought at Lehman's I think it was, you just put in your last average frost and it tells you what date to start seeds and plant plants.

I cheated and bought young plants. Doing the layering technique for pots. Put them in a deep pot in about 4” of soil, as they grow taller and after about 3 weeks, back fill the pot another 4”, then repeat in another 3 weeks or so.
The stem of tomato plants will chuck out roots when covered in compost, so by the time they are fruiting they should have built up a good, strong root system…(that’s the idea, first time I’ve done it like this)
They’re in a poly tunnel so they should be okay with night temps unless we get a very cold spell. I done the first back fill today, they’re doing ok.

I dropped my seeds(gardener's delight) in some soil last Sunday, left them in a small propagator in the flower room

I have potted my 8 tomato plants up (1/2ltr) and placed them at the from of my flower room, I used the lux meter to check every seedling was getting at least 10,000 lux. I have 2 friends that are waiting for 2 plants and I will keep the other 4

Looks good, I love the way the tom's will hang down from the hanging pots, great idea.
I will be using a massive pot 40ltr round pot and an old large sink in the back garden, just going to top them up with some compost and add some food in.
Will use 3x 12" round plant rings.

It was my Dad that got me into this idea, so long as you keep feeding them, you don't actually need a huge amount of compost to grow them in

You can add water crystals(on the fence if these are good or not).
When there could be 30c summer days, I would feel safer with the larger pots.
But I would like see how your toms turn out.
