Mean that it was overfed at some point . Make sure you get good runoff .
And check back in a few days . If still a tad too high . Drop the e.c by 50ppm or .1

Its nkt all that far off .

What your tap water reading in the meter ?

    Budwiser - a few pointers.

Water unless ro comes out the tap with some element of rock salts in it already. Mine reads at 0.4. So i know that my water has some elements in it and the (lookingh at my water authority i can see cal and mag amongst others in my tap water)

So when measuring out a feed for example if some one says add 0.4 to your water then my total ec would be 0.8 as its the base reading (0.4) plus my feed reading, making 0.8

I wouldnt worry too much about run off readings unless there is a problem. Dont go taking numbers all the time looking for a problem as you will most likely cause one. Let the plant tell you its un happy and then maybe look into readings of run off. It's all in the leaves and development that you will learn that is when to take run off readings. Tbh i have had perfectly happy healthy plants with high numbers of ec. i find its more the ph that gives a clue to whether the plant is over fed as rock salts build in the media and then drop the ph readings.

I might add that these numbers only give you an idea, not thge problem, for accurate readings a slurry test is required. this involves removing some coco from the root zone and using a set process to measure it.

For now i would just follow Trex advice

I’ve just started doing so, I’d been putting it in as an additive up to this point.

Ok . Make sure that water is normal feeding temps before you add nutrients in then bud .

Depending whats in your water it can fluctuate a bit .

Store that meter in a glass of fresh water so it can clean off . Maybe your meter is fucked too

    Hi Smoby,

    Thank you for the advice.

My baseline ec is normally between 390 & 450 so was going to work on the average of 430 ? What is that in 0. Terms ?

So I should also be testing the ph of my run off ?

Everyone is giving great advice which I’m very grateful for and I’ll follow it accordingly.

I think the biggest thing I need to do is relax and enjoy the ride..
